Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy covers how Hive Botanics handles your personal information when you visit hivebotanics.com.au or contact us directly.

What we collect

When you use the contact form or email us directly, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We do not collect any other personal information unless you provide it voluntarily.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe's checkout form runs on our page, but your card and delivery details go straight to Stripe, so we never see or store your full card number. Stripe passes us only what we need to fulfil your order: your name, email address and delivery address. If you are sending a piece as a gift, the recipient's name and your card message go through Stripe with the order.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site and how they find us (for example, from Instagram, TikTok, Google search, or our Google Business Profile). It sets cookies and collects aggregated, de-identified information about your visit - such as the pages you view and your approximate location - with IP addresses anonymised. We use this only to understand overall site usage and improve the site; we do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not sell this data.

We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our advertising performs and to understand how the site is used. It uses cookies to record actions such as page views, product views and purchases, and shares these with Meta so we can see whether our ads are working. Where you enter details such as your email address on the site, the Pixel may also share them with Meta in a hashed (encrypted) form, to help match your activity to your Facebook or Instagram account for advertising measurement. We do not use it to identify you personally or sell your data. You can manage this through your browser's cookie settings and your Facebook ad preferences.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they read. Unlike the two tools above, it sets no cookies and collects no personal information: it records only the page visited, the referring site, the country, the browser and operating system type, and basic timings for how quickly pages load. None of that identifies you, and it is not used to follow you across other websites.

You can opt out at any time through your browser's cookie settings or by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on.

How we use your information

We use your contact details only to respond to your enquiry or to fulfil your order. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party.

Mailing list

If you joined the waitlist for the DIY kit, you gave us your email address and your postcode, plus your first name if you chose to add it. We used the postcode to work out your state, because live plants and soil cannot be sent to every part of Australia. Ticking the consent box added you to the list straight away, with no confirmation email.

Those details are held by MailerLite, the email service we use to send list updates. The waitlist form is no longer on the site, and we may use the list again to announce a future kit. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click takes you off the list. You can also email hello@hivebotanics.com.au and we will remove you and delete what we hold.

Data storage

Emails and enquiries are stored within our email account (Google Workspace). We take reasonable steps to keep this secure. We retain correspondence for as long as it is relevant to our ongoing relationship with you.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. To make a request, email hello@hivebotanics.com.au.
